Job Title: Technician Apprentice
Job Description:
Alaska Digital Connections is a successful and leading security company that specializes in sales and installation of home security systems, smart homes, A/V, and cameras. We are seeking a determined and eager Trainee Security Technician Assistant who wants to gain experience in the industry, to support our team of knowledgeable technicians. The successful candidate is expected to progress to a Sales Person Supervisor with hard work and dedication. Starting wage is between $15 and $20 with raises, incentives and opportunities to grow and may be higher depending on background and skillset.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with experienced technicians in the installation, service, and repair of various security systems and smart home devices
- Pre-wire homes with low-voltage and data/cable for new construction or home remodeling projects
- Carry telescoping ladders and climb heights for a full installation of CCTV cameras
- Follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and guidelines for safe installation practices including the safe use of electrical tools and equipment
- Work with installation and service managers to audit completed jobs and those in progress
- Additional assignments as directed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime when needed
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Be physically fit to lift and/or move heavy home appliances and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds; must be able to carry equipment up and down ladders effectively and with caution
- Comfortable working outdoors and in confined spaces
- Pass a pre-employment background check and random drug testing
- Ability to supervise and manage effectively in order to achieve team success
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Manage multiple assignments, priorities tasks, and work well under pressure with minimal supervision
- Strong learning and technical skillset towards security product installation
- Has an interest in gaining proficiency and skillset towards becoming a security supervisor and salesperson
